Nancy Tries To Bring Down Rush...
According to two members of the House Democrat Caucus, Reps. Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer have informed them that they will "aggressively pursue" reinstatement of the so-called Fairness Doctrine over the next six months.
In January, Democrat presidential candidate Rep. Dennis Kucinich announced that he was going to pursue the Fairness Doctrine through his Government Reform subcommittee. That announcement was greeted with silence. But now, Pelosi has moved things to the front burner.
Much of the doctrine, regulated through the FCC, was largely dumped in 1987. Other parts of it, related to "personal attack" rule and the "political editorial" rule, remained in place until 2000. The personal attack rule required anyone "attacked" over the airwaves to be notified beforehand and given an opportunity to respond. A similar rule was followed for the political editorial, where a broadcaster endorsing one political candidate or issue had to give similar time for a response from those not endorsed or supported.The decision to press for re-establishment of the Fairness Doctrine now seems to have developed for two reasons. "First, [Democrats] failed on the radio airwaves with Air America, no one wanted to listen," says a senior adviser to Pelosi. "Conservative radio is a huge threat and political advantage for Republicans and we have had to find a way to limit it.

Fairness doctrine my foot. The beginning of the inquisition more like it. And you have that idiot Nixon who started it all with the "lack of conservative voice" on the airwaves back in those gloomy 70's. TV news media has always been liberal--and FOXNEWS isn't conservative either. Radio is dominated by conservative voice because it's our only outlet now.

If they keep it up, and the masses pay ANY attention to the Stalinist behavior of the "wonderful" Democrat party, they will be TROUNCED in the upcoming Presidential elections. It will become apparent to even the casual observers of the political scene that the Dems are Stalinists who HATE competition in the realm of ideas.
Just look at how badly Rush and Hannity bother them! And what is their great offense? THEY SPEAK in opposition to the leftist worldview!
The danger of these Stalinists and their tactics is that they may actually succeed. The MSM (print and TV) have openly taken sides in the last few years. They don't even PRETEND anymore to be even-handed. The New York Times would celebrate the demise of talk radio. The traitor Bill Keller would throw a party on the upper West Side. Hammers and sickles would be optional apparel.

Nanette and I brought the dogs and we met my son Marcus and my sister Michelle. Marcus and I hunted, hiked and chopped deadwood, while the ladies talked and planted flowers. Guilty pleasures don't ya know...
Carmen stayed home with her mother so I got a chance to really party with the adults for a change! I forgot how much fun that could be.
My mutt enjoys the hunt so much that we didn't bag a good buck this time. Every time one came close(relatively speaking of course), she freaked and attacked it! She's so old I don't have the heart to chastise or train her. She got the last laugh because we had to pull ticks off her. She's the best dog I ever had. I got her off the beach in Puerto Rico in 1996 as a feral animal and after a STERN "talking too" we became great friends. Jacob, my black parking lot find, is still learning the woods. He's spooked by bear scat. If I weighed 10lbs. I would be scared of bears too!
Les at the few conservative sites I've blogged at, lefties and sane people have EXACTLY the same rules. DONAL applies the same set of rules that I would if this were my blog. I would be tougher on lefties than conservatives. Call it a tiny, tiny bit of payback.

Let's set the record straight. DU, Dkos, and other sites position themselves as "communities". The DU D'rat review is not a "community". It is an individual blog.
Do you see the difference? In case you don't, let me break it down a little bit more.
An individual blog is a single person's outpost on the web. It is like the front porch of a house. The owner invites you up and you can hang out and shoot the breeze. But if you trash the joint, you're gone. Individuals have the right to set up rules for their own homes.
A community is larger than one person and their rules. Supposedly, communities exist to reflect the viewpoints of many, or all those who join the community and follow its rules. The complaints conservatives have with DU, Dkos, and other places is that we obey the rules, and yet our voices are silenced.
Do you get it now?
Leftists refuse to follow rules on individual blog sites and are thrown out for disobeying the rules.
Conservatives follow the rules on leftist sites and are thrown off for expressing unpopular opinions.
If I need to tell you who which of the two acts censoriously in this case, you haven't learned anything from what I've written.

Ah...what is in a name. RS, sorry to inform you but a community, a blog or whatever goes on in your little mind there, are all actually the same thing. Markos 'owns' his blog, he calls is a community. He can call it a community, he can call it a blog, he can call it whatever he wants. There is no difference. Unlike some sites, it is open to all.
