Rob, of course we caught that--and of course we were disturbed. Why do you think we loved the rest of it if not to acknowledge that, it is the wonderful United States of America that, if ALLOWED to bring peace to the region, will prevent ALL the dead kids from laying in the dust?

That child was every child Saddam imprisoned, every child raped in front of his or her parents, every child with his tongue cut out. That child laying in the dirt was every Iraqi that Saddam EVER hurt--and who WE were there to rescue and protect. That view of a child, dead, was the most important frame in the montage; it was the ONLY one I saw.

P.S. Rob, perhaps you do not... understand that when Jingo (and me and others) champions such a thing as the men in this video it is the child to which he is referring and is, if not the only thing he sees, it is the first. We're not just watching people blow things up and glorying in that...

DONAL you're far too kind to give me that much credit. I didn't notice the kid. I saw our guys kicking muzzie ass and taking names!

I've noticed a new lie that the left has been telling. They claim that hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have died as a result of our liberation of Iraq. They exaggerate by a factor of TEN! What's new for the left? The biggest shame is that they have such a huge megaphone for their propaganda.

Everyone with any sense knows that FAR more would have died at the hands of Saddam's thugs in the same period of time.

A word top Rob Bayn. Be proud of our guys man! They KICK ASS!

Iam proud of our men & women, but I also value life, and seeing a dead kid bothers me, sorry it does, I can't ignore it, or look over it, No one had mention it, so figured I would, caught my eye, was wondering how many more people caught it.

Donal, I know you and others don't glory in people dying, I did not mean to imply that, was just stating what stuck out the most to me.

God bless!

JINGO--I don't believe that for a second LOL! I was, perhaps, speaking too literally. I should have said whether or not you saw THAT particular child, when you see fighting men, you know that's who they are there to protect, and that's one of the things that makes them great.

I, like you, see the strong men, doing a man's job, and love seeing just that. You've been in the military and know what it takes, so I know you particularly see that...

Rob, I am nearly 50 years old and have seen many, many things. I grew up in an abusive household, started working in old folk's homes and mental hospitals when I was 19, and have dealt with many, many dead people.

I remember being that same 19 year old and, having had my first Chinese patient Mr. Lee die one night, there was only me there to wash his body and dress him in his burial clothing. I kept watch over him all night until his people came for him so that I could tell them truthfully that he was not ever alone.

Have you ever spent the night alone in a room with a dead body?

I have cared for developmentally disable people so badly disfigured that others could not look at them. I've dealt with autistics kids who acted out so badly all the other females quit. I have done take downs and retrained violent mental patients, cleaned up a yard-long pool of blood from the suicides...

I have cared for my grandmother with lung cancer until she died in my arms... I have seen a lot of death and it does not frighten me. When someone dies, it is not the horrible specter some people might think. I remember feeling the heat leave my mother's body when she died--THAT'S a bit disturbing--when the heat of this world leaves one.

However, I have also read about much war. Erich Maria Remarque's All Quiet On the Western Front is a favorite, and in the 1960's Johnny Got His Gun was popular. I know what war is easily and, believe it or not, I love war stategy and could wage it. It'd be a dream for me to go study at the War College.

Of course, knowing death and war does not mean I love it. No. It only means I know that they are a part of life. To know what life is you have to know what death is.

After spending the night talking and praying over the Mr. Lees, Catherine's, grandmothers, dead kids I have known, the child on the ground didn't 'bother' me in the ordinary way--I simply would've stroked his cheek, talked to him, and got him up and out of the dirt...

les ismore--You can BEST salute the troops, as you claim to want to do, by supporting them, their mission, and their Commander-In-Chief. I know the Left hasn't quite gotten this figured out, but THAT'S how it's done.

Les Ismore, can ANYBODY on the Left even HALFWAY measure up to these fine men? ANY of you have these kind of guts? Are there ANY of you that is anywhere NEAR being this kind of a MAN?

I couldn't watch it all...I just got an email with a letter home from a young man soldier in Iraq, saying how much good we're doing there, how glad he was to help, telling his new wife not to worry...then read the email above his saying he'd been killed soon after that letter home. Found myself weeping for a kid I never met.....

these kids are so incredibly brave......looking so tough, knowing they could get hit ANY minute and die........they humble me to my knees.

GOd bless them all.......and, please, let them not see what our Lefties are doing here....as MIchael Steele said on CNN this morning "If you're an enemy of this country, you're loving what our senators are trying to do to our war effort".

God bless HIM, too.

Veritoink,
How dare you or anyone say that the only folks serving in our armed forces have to be right wingers. I am a proud vet, yes, even enlightened progressives served in Viet Nam, the Gulf War and Iraq. My family has paid the ultimate price, like 3000 of our comrades. My nephew as one of the finest young men I have ever known and he was a proud Democrat. How dare you degrade his honor and the ultimate sacrifice he has paid so you can preach your hate. Shame on you and your HATEFUL comments VERITOINK. Democrats and Republicans have died in Iraq in spite of your HATEFUL world view. Shame on you and all of the others in your Circle Jerk of HATE.

Les, there is no doubt there are patriotic Democrats fighting in Iraq. I'd love to know the numbers of Republicans vs Democrats who've enlisted SINCE the war began, wouldn't you? I think they'd tell the story and support Verity's comment. This is about believing in the mission...and most Dems still don't get it! I doubt many are enlisting.

And, if I hear and read correctly, those kids over there, Dem AND Rep, just might be getting a good education about how leftist and biased our media is. Except for the very few dissenting soldiers CNN and MSNBC manage to find, it's astonishing how the huge majority we hear interviewed are sick of the mischaracterization of what's going on there while they watch American news from Iraq and read the leftist blogs threatening to take support away or pull them out of a war soft Americans living here are condemning while strong, brave kids are reupping because they feel it's important.

I hope those Dem kids over there, those other brave soldiers, are seeing what the left here in America's really like....now that they're out and can look back and appreciate the lies. I lived in Europe for four years and, upon coming back 4 years ago, I was stunned to see the mischaracterizatoins about world politics we know nothing about, and the unconscienable bias of most of our media. It has become a lobbyist for the likes of you......you and yours should be ashamed.

AND< don't you love it? The two things the Right had..talk radio and good Christian churches are now being threatened, too! Senate Bill NUMBER ONE....shut down conservative talk radio...make it FAIR! (Sorry Air America failed so)(by the way, won't that make CNN forced to become FAIR, too!?ooops), and watch as Clinton/Carter are infiltrating the S. Baptist convention.."we have a BETTER way than how you've been believing"....you can't make this stuff up.

First of all, my name is VERITYINK OR DONAL, make no mistake, les ismore. We are in no 'circle jerk of hate (and, despite being a woman, I know what that term means). We are only so heartbroken at you traitorous ingrates that value your own freedom--but not that of others. You are trying to bring down this President and, thus, this nation, in time of war and that is TOTALLY INEXCUSABLE. Don't you know that??? Are you so relentlessly ignorant that you do not realize what your actions, and those of your fellow Lefties, is doing? DECENT PEOPLE DO NOT UNDERMINE A PRESIDENT IN TIME OF WAR WHETHER THEY PERSONALLY AGREE WITH HIM OR NOT--THAT'S HOW I DARE SAY WHAT I SAY AND WHY I AM RIGHT IN WHAT I SAY. RIGHTER, MORE CORRECT, THAN YOU AND YOURS WILL EVER BE.

Fuck you for your anti-Americanism, your short-sightedness, your extreme selfishness. Don't you DARE try and preen in my house!

VeritoinKKK,
Sorry, based on your language I thought you were a truck driver or something, of course that is not meant as any insult to truck drivers every where. Now, back to the circle jerk of HATE, if you look at my original post on this thread, I complimented the video and our brave men and women in uniform. You started your HATEFUL rant on the masculinity of left. Then insinuate that all of those who have died in Iraq, something that I have first hand knowledge of, are Republicans. So my original thesis stands, an innocuous commment, turned into a hateful attack not only on me but on every man and woman serving in our services who didnt vote for our President. Again, shame on you.
