The Dilemma

The Dilemma

Today, I finally got it about the Jews. My mental disconnect ended and I realized their eternal dilemma. I mean, these people have been beset with various nations and groups trying to assassinate them for centuries. And, now, they are being pushed to the edge of having to guard their own survival (no less because no one else will).

However, they do not want to be genocidal themselves. It's abhorrent to them; they are too moral a people. It's not just a matter of it having been done continually to them.

I finally understand because I am at the point where I am done. My tolerance is gone. I hate the muslims and wish they were off the earth--and I am so far gone it is only in some moments that I feel badly about this. I can just imagine how the Israelis feel. Living next door to people who want nothing more than your death, ones who call you apes and pigs. Living down the street from an Iranian madman who says he wants the bomb with which to do it with even more dispatch.

Then, the Jews, thinking of Hitler--and having him forever imprinted on their collective memory and wanting SO badly to never be equated with him--and, yet, having to make sure they endure and that maybe they cannot do that without taking out a large swath. That conundrum is surely the definition of hell: to be genocidal or exterminated yourself.

You see, I've never quite understood why Israel has not done more to defend itself (though I do understand the United States has had a hand in this, wanting 'stability' in the middle east...) Instead, I think this forever-dilemma has more to do with it, sometimes.

Fortunately, Ahmadinejad may make the question moot (and the mullahs, understanding these issues more closely, might be what is making him unchampioned in Iran). He is playing a fools game because, of all the people on earth that would be willing to believe a peoples are really trying to kill them, it would be the Jews. Ahmadinejad does not understand this; they are quite serious, and one bad move on his part will give them the justification they currently may not feel they have.

They've had it for years.

Pardon me for appearing to speak for a people, perhaps assuming without first asking (or being off base entirely); these are only my mental ruminations this morning.

Donal

It always delights me when a non Jew finally gets it .
The horror of 2000 years of persecution.

Of having the homeland under constan threat .

Of sacrificing 6000 young people during the war of independence- a war called on Israel by the neighbors who wanted to cut pieces of the land for themselves not for the so called Palestinians.

Of a UN who is on a war path with Israel - orders from its real boss , the ARAB league.

Of 14 million Jews who are being blamed for every ill the world can come up with anywhere at all.

Of the incredible stupidity of the west who is supposed to know better and who is next in line for destruction.

You got it, DONAL , when will everybody else?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ISRAEL.

Thank you for that Batya. I tried not to presume too much...

My sis said the other night "Do you think if the muslims had gone through the Holocaust they'd be that decent? They're not that decent now...'

And this is exactly what makes the Palestinian "victim" characterization such a fucking joke. Sorry, Donal but this crap absolutely enrages me.

We have to kow tow to a WORTHLESS group of people who do less than fucking NOTHING for the world, who victimize others endlessly, absolutely endlessly. If Gaza was a glowing blue parking lot, it would be a blessing and only that.

The West Bank is no bargain, either.

The Jewish people certainly know what it is to be persecuted, particurally by Muslims. So do the Armenians. Armenian Christians have felt the wrath of the Religion of Peace for over a thousand years too. J'Mac.

Very good post Donal. You shouldn't feel bad about losing your tolerance, certainly not to Muslims. Good Lord, they're intolerant people to start with. Islam is intolerant. Much like prairiesons excellent post, there seems to be a strange creeping ''lets not defend ourselves'' infecting the West. I'm long past the point of tolerance for Islam. Say kiddo, I've sent you a couple e-mails recently, did they get to you? How are you doing? J"Mac.

Very well expressed DONAL. This is the eternal moral dilemma, isn't it? How to defend yourself against monsters without becoming one. We face the same problem here in America.

As we all know the SMART thing for us to do is to nuke ALL of Iran's nuke sites tomorrow! We don't do it because of the moral implications that come with preemption. It's damn tough having a conscience.
