'It's Not Just Imus,' Warn Talk-Radio Headhunters

'It's Not Just Imus,' Warn Talk-Radio Headhunters
WND

Now that radio talk-show host Don Imus has been banished, it's time to clean up the rest of talk radio, says a partisan media watchdog group headed by David Brock.

Next in the crosshairs for alleged expressions of "bigotry and hate speech targeting, among other characteristics, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion and ethnicity" are, according to Media Matters for America, Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage, Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck, Neal Boortz John Gibson and Michael Smerconish.

Well, we all knew this would happen. I wouldn't be surprised if this was their strategy all along.

Next, they'll be pushing the Fairness Doctrine!

Lets flush the toilet! If Limbaugh wants to comment on politics, fine, but like that idiot Imus, he has crossed the line all too often. Same goes for the racist, misogynist haters like Michael Savage, Bill (faloofa) O'Reilly, and Glenn Beck. And while we are at it, I agree with Boxer from a few posts back, lets target the hate coming from rappers and the record companies that support them. Hate is hate, no matter where it is coming from.
Just as an aside, why is it that Coulter, Limbaugh and others want to be considered 'serious' but when they slip into their sick tirades, it suddenly becomes 'satire'?

Les you sound like just another leftist who doesn't mind sensoring people at all! Conservatives have always understood this contempt that the left REALLY has for the US Constitution. More than ever before we understand that the speech that you defend is LEFTIST speech. The rest is "hate" speech.

People like myself yearn for a single standard. If you are born with plentiful pigmentation or are sparsely pigmented, or if you prefer other men instead of women, people like myself like to think that the same rules of DISCOURSE apply to all! That's SIMPLE fairness. All other solutions are endless trouble.

bobcat gets it. "their strategy all along"..The second day of this Imus fiasco, Sharpton says this:

"..I don't know if he's a racist, it doesn't matter what he SAID, what matters is WHERE he said it..on FEDERAL AIRWAVES!"

AHA, I thought....something's coming that's way beyond Imus.

And, by golly...Limbaugh, Savage.... Funny, isn't it just WILD that there's no talk about Garaglo or Franken, Maher or Rosie or Olbermann being silenced? Must just be, what....they just overlooked it?

Forgot?

COuldn't be (DRUMS HERE)..BIAS, could it? Naaa..NOT FROM THE LEFT, COULD IT!?
oh, please.

Amazing how quickly this has turned into McCarthyism, isn't it?

Oh, Brooke! YOu KNOW the Left could NEVER be accused of McCarthyism!! They NEVER err! YOU KNOW THAT! THey wouldn't lose files, or erase emails, or go to foreign enemies against the will of the president, or call a sitting president liar in front of school kids, or steal classified information, or have friends turn up dead in droves, or enemies...or cause hurricanes, or cause global warming, or lie for the spotlight, or mischaracterize the news, or anything BAD! YOu know that, Brooke..don't you?

and, of course, you're absolutely right. It is mcCarthyism, very interesting point.

sorry, just had to have some fun with you......amazing, isn't it, what's going on?

First, I dont think anyone considers Imus a liberal, I certainly dont. He is a mean spirited old man with very bad attitudes on race and sex. Sounds more like a Republican to me but whomever uses those kind of derogatory terms, left, right, black, white, rapper, pundit or whatever does not have the right to use a medium funded and supported by our tax dollars. Period. And the airwaves are just that, public!
