The DU d'RAT Review
I created this blog as a response to the hypocrisy, nastiness, and negativity at Democratic Underground. The D'RATS do not allow disagreement on their site; they demand their posters tout their party line word-for-word. Any poster who does not march in lockstep is immediately banned. Their cowardice in this, and their calumny towards America's leaders, will not go unanswered as I address the issues of the day--and one of the most negative, detrimental influences in the blogosphere.

JOHN McCAIN'S SUNDAY PROMENDADE....So John McCain, in order to prove his point that there are neighborhoods in Baghdad that an American can stroll through safely, tells reporters at a press conference that he just got back from a 1-hour walk around the city. Safe and sound! Though, oddly for a guy running for president, without any TV cameras around. APRIL FOOL'S AMERICA!
Later it turns out that he visited
A market three minutes from the Green Zone. Wearing a bulletproof vest. Accompanied by over a hundred well-armed soldiers. Covered by three Blackhawk helicopters. And two Apache gunships. Details here.

Seriously, just how stupid does McCain think we are? Doesn't he realize that this kind of thing just draws attention to exactly how dangerous Baghdad still is? He's accomplished the exact opposite of what he set out to do.
And this has what to do with April Fool's Day and my greeting?
Has nothing to do with your greeting but everything to do with April Fool's Day. The perfect end to McCain's presser would have been for him to say exactly that. "April Fool's America!" If anyone thought he was crazy enough to stroll through a neighborhood in Baghdad.
