Sen. Jim DeMint: Don't Force 'Amnesty' On Us

Reaction to the "Bush-Kennedy" immigration reform bill is drawing strong condemnation from many conservatives, and part of the anger stems from the fact that it was crafted in secret - and will now be rushed straight to the Senate floor.

Some liberals also criticized the compromise bill, saying it doesn't go far enough to protect a new "underclass" of workers.

Even as the deal was announced on Thursday afternoon, few people had seen the text. But some of the details are leaking out, and a number of grassroots groups are mobilizing voters to complain to their elected representatives before Memorial Day, anticipating that the Senate may rush to vote on the bill in a matter of days.

Exactly! The fact that this wasn't given the light of day - and us allowed a choice by either party--stinks!

bobcat-We are as sheep for the slaughter, we aren't "people" to these politicos, we are numbers, peons, money producers, and in general, not good for much else. We are inconvenient at times...
