Lawyer Sentenced for Terror Support to Teach at N.Y. University ConferenceFoxNews
A disbarred lawyer convicted of helping her client communicate with terrorists was scheduled to teach at a Long Island, N.Y., law school ethics conference, FederalReview.com reported.
Lynne Stewart, who was convicted in 2005 of providing material support to terrorists and received a 28-month sentence, was to speak at Hofstra Law School’s legal ethics conference, set for Oct. 14 to Oct. 16.
Her former client, sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman, was sentenced to life in prison for plotting to blow up five New York landmarks and assassinate Egypt's president.
According to Hofstra’s Web site, conference speakers were expected to discuss "prosecutorial abuse, the challenges of representing prisoners at Guantanamo and attacks on lawyers who represent unpopular clients and causes."
I couldn't stand looking at Stewart's picture, so I had to change it to the school's logo... sorry for inflicting that on ya.

this is nothing but nonsense. this is a woman who betrayed her oath as a lawyer - and her promises to a judge - and got convicted. why isn't she in jail is exactly the right question to ask.

You just have to wonder what goes on in peoples minds. People like Stewart and her ilk, the academics who are her patrons, you look at them as I do, especially in a post-9/11 world and wonder why they aren't dead. This woman activly subverted the law she swore to uphold and defend and she did for a man who was directly responsible for killng Americans on American soil. And in an irony and insult really beyond bearning, this harrian is going to teach ''ethics'' at an American university. People such as this are born into the freest society that has ever exsisted, not a perfect one, but one unlike any other. yes, its a human system and there are injustices, such is life in America but certainly injustice in America eventually is rooted out, not by lawyers but by a system OF LAW! This woamn and her ilk care nothing for justice or law but only order, their order. Look behind the smiles and faces of these people and know for certain that if the world ran the way they would like it to be suffice to say this blog wouldn't exsist. it amuses me that these people talk of a constant ''struggle'' and ''oppression'' and have never known either and their neo-Marxist/brownshirt sloganeering, speeches and such they sound so tough. I'd love the oppurtunity sometime to just how much. J'Mac.
