Bush Bans Protests at Military Funerals

President Bush, marking Memorial Day with a speech paying tribute to fighting men and women lost in war, signed into law Monday a bill that keeps demonstrators from disrupting military funerals.

JINGO Yes, I thought it was wonderful! I've heard so much bullshit from those gawdawful people this Memorial Day that I can't help posting about it. I've never met such lousy folks in my life! I'm so ashamed of them...that wasn't how I was raised AT ALL.

I became a teenager during Nixon's debacle and my dad would not have allowed us to say anything derogatory about him. He let us call what he did wrong, and he let us logically outline his mistakes--even say he should step down--but we could not demean him or mindlessly insult him.

My dad was plenty disgusted with his behavior, too, but he taught us the proper way to censure, and comment upon that behavior. He said no child of his was going to disrespect the United States of America by disrespecting the president!

what elbro said AND i spent most of the day yesterday trying to swallow mental golfballs - stayed pretty much choked up with all the veterans' war stories on the stereo.
