Art Exhibition On Torture 'Opens Abu Ghraib Wounds' An art exhibition entitled "Torture" set to open next week in San Francisco will "open Abu Ghraib wounds," promises a press release obtained by RAW STORY.
"Security firmly in place, Clinton Fein's latest exhibition, Torture, scheduled to open at Toomey Tourell Gallery in San Francisco on January 4, 2007, is a shocking and defiant exploration of America's approach to torture under the Bush administration," the press release states.
The exhibition consists of "a series of staged and digitally manipulated photographic images" which "recreate infamous torture scenes from Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq, transforming diffuse, muted and low-resolution images into large-scale, vivid, powerful and frightening reproductions."
Artist Fein was born in South Africa, and according to his blog, he is "closely identified with his controversial web site, Annoy.com and his notable Supreme Court victory against Janet Reno, Attorney General of the United States, challenging the constitutionality of the Communications Decency Act in 1997, where Fein's right to disseminate his art was upheld in a landmark victory for First Amendment rights."

This is nothing but Photoshopped, imaginary bullshit--meant to unfairly slander President Bush, and this entire country! It's not even the truth; it's certainly not accurate, unbiased reproduction. You don't have to look very far to know who did THIS disgrace--and how they'll use it! Who KNOWS how this will hurt our image overseas--AND IT'S NOT THE TRUTH, AND THESE PEOPLE WERE NOT THERE!

Abu Ghraib was a torture chamber under Saddam, what a few of our troops did to terrorist prisoners, while ridiculous and silly, was NOT torture. The prisoners may have been embarassed, even humbled, but WHO THE HELL CARES? They're terrorists, what does it matter if they were embarassed? They have no dignity, no humanity, no rights to anything other than a speedy execution. Get off this BS. I am sick of us allowing the left to villify this country over NOTHING!!!!

I did not intend to imply the story you posted was not worthy. It was. I apologize for not clarifying my complete disgust at those in the MSM and on the left who have used this non-crime as fodder with which to villify us. I fully appreciate your posting the information. My point simply was: who the hell cares about the terrorists' feelings??? Last time I checked, they didn't have any.
Wheres the photos of all the Israelis and innocent Christians who were slaughtered by Muzlims huh huh huh! spit!
One thing more, the fact that this "artiste" had to doctor the photos in order to make them appear to be torture proves my point. If it had really been torture, no photoshopping would have been needed.

Yes, YOU ARE MISSING SOMETHING HERE. The people at DU ACTED like it was the truth, and REACTED like it was the truth--which is exactly what the Leftist who painted it intended. Do your homework--and don't ask people to believe a Photoshop when they don't have the real thing. Only the real thing is the truth. This guy wasn't there, his pictures are made up. He doesn't have the right to parade them as truth. If he does THAT, then we have the right to call them a lie.
Yes, Mr. Anonymous - who doesn't have the guts to post in his own name - everyone knows the inflamatory nature photos, art, can have. Why else would judges not allow EVERY crime scene pic? Because visuals can have an impact FAR beyond that of words. THAT'S what Donal so objected to, I believe. And she is right. Pity that you want to NOW follow the 'letter of the law': they weren't said to be the real things - when you know DAMN well how they would seem to others.
