In fact, I hate America, there, I said it.
Strike that, I hate what America has BECOME. This used to be the land of the free. No longer.This once was the home of the "brave".
Now, our populace has largely been reduced to sniveling cowards who exist (not live) in fear of the next "terrist attack" that Unca Boosh will protect you from. All you have to surrender is your very soul, your essential humanity, and out of that eminently foolish bargain, you, Mr. Rightist, get a wonderful false sense of "security", whatever that means in this ignoble year of our Lord (with all due sarcasm), Two Thousand and Seven.
This country is my enemy. This government is my enemy. And all too quickly, the PEOPLE of this once proud, honorable nation are becoming my enemy as well. I'm no spring chicken, I know of the atrocities perpetuated by the United States of America since our inception, but let's be honest, there is a fundamental, qualitative difference between past crises and the morass in which we are at present, collectively mired. This is a disaster of our own making. And by "our", I mean the Joe Sixpacks and 'Sally Housecoats' out there.

I am ashamed, utterly mortified, to be of this country. I DO NOT believe that my labor should be used to perpetuate death and destruction of innocents any longer, so I'm making arrangements to leave, once and for all.

Think this stuff is 'cherry picked' (the Left's favorite excuse)? No, this is a variety of opinions, pulled from DU, by a large pool of posters. They are sandwiched in between various negative comments and death wishes for Vice President Cheney during his pacemaker operation later this summer...

Where do these stupid people come from? How can they look at the same things that I look at, and see it as all bad when I see it as all good? Doesn't make sense to me. I still see an honorable and repected and much loved country. This is the country that I live in. I don't know where du-ers live!

The left is not only illogical, they are contra-logical. Their corrosive emotions (most of which stem from a lack of power in their own lives, and thus an overreaction when their party doesn't get their way on the state or national stages) dissolve hold they had on rational thought. Thus, like Orwell they can be against free expression when it suits them, or say that it's not a free country yet protest to their hearts' delight, or any number of blatantly hypocritical things. Their anger, their powerlessness, and their sense of entitlement make for some very frustrated tyrants-in-training. Note that despite how much they hate America, they're not above asking us all for money to help them leave. It is truly breathtaking.
And please, let's not talk about "cherry picking" until someone can post all the text that demonstrates that you picked a few choice quotes. To this day, I have never seen such texts posted. Have you?
