A Blessed Sunday To All!

Myspace Layouts

American Sympathy,

We need to show more sympathy for these people.

They travel miles in the heat, they risk their lives crossing a border, they don't get paid enough wages, they do jobs that others won't do or are afraid to do, they live in crowded conditions--among a people who speak a different language--they rarely see their families, and they face adversity all day, every day. I'm not talking about illegal Mexicans, I'm talking about our troops.

Doesn't it seem strange that the Democrats are willing to lavish all kinds of social benefits on illegals, but don't support our troops and are now threatening to defund them?

Please, pass this on--and support our troops AND their mission!

Thanks to ZinLA and Patsy and all of Donal's blog family for supporting our troops.

Just wanted to say that our great American troops support America; where is America's...and American's...support of our troops? They are a great bunch of guys who don't have to keep the world safe, but they do it because it's the right thing to do.

I don't see anybody else stepping up to do it...

I almost fainted watching the COoking Channel last night...their assignment was to cook for the troops, and one of the older guys went into some babble about Vietnam and how he remembers how they were treated and he's happy to cook today for them as a kind of payback....the faces of the troops were very glum. The younger hipper kid totally suprised me by saying "we're happy to cook for you today because without you doing what you're doing, we couldn't be doing this" I thought I'd heard wrong!

But mostly, Donal's right; not many others are stepping up for our troops OR for our country.

Did you see Leahy this morning on Russert? Apparently, Bush is spying on me typing on Donal's blog, and listening to me while I speak to my sisters. I thought he had more important things to do than that, huh? No, apparently, they just want to spy on innocent Americans, and leahy's gonna get to the bottom of THAT, I assure you!

Z--I knew my blog was a verybigdeal in the grand scheme of things; the Prez must have sent a special envoy just to spy on my many commenters! (Watch what you tell your sisters! LOL!)

I would be so embarrassed if Patrick Leahy were my Senator, I am that Robert C. Byrd is mine. But how can he keep getting re-elected? I know why Byrd is: he's the king of pork. But, Leahy is just plain dumb, really stupid (not that Byrd comes off as a mental giant, either). He's also arrogant and mean-spirited.

Our troops deserve better than a whole lot of Senators and Congressmen who oversee their military budgets, pass the laws and write the rules & regulations that dictate their Codes of Conduct. Americans need to do a better job of electing a character-laden class of individuals to our government who will respect our soldiers and the sacrifices they make for our country.

Isn't it awful that among those "not many supporting our troops" referred to, are the VERY politicians, like Leahy, whose job it is to defend this country? They make me so damn mad I can't see straight.

I quickly glanced again at the excellent photo Donal found to illustrate the article, and caught ZinLA underneath the soldiers and the flag...and it struck me. I actually felt PROUD to have only just my silly screen name in the proximity to them! Weird feeling.

We sang AMERICA in church this morning....I and my girlfriend and the choir stood up. I didn't care if anybody else did, I wasn't remaining sitting for THAT!!! Nobody's unpatriotic there, but I guess you don't stand up for that ... well, I DID!!

Altho, I have to add, that one guy saw SICKO last night and said to me "i think every bit of it's true"...you just have to wonder! THEN, another guy I'd never met there said "man, all that NATIONALISTIC singing today...I don't feel very proud to be American when I see all the people we're killing in Iraq".

WOW. It's good to get out and amongst them and realize how skewed some peoples' visions of things are. unreal.

I told him I was MORE proud to sing those songs because of this war, I then advised him to stop watching so much CNN...he said "I don't watch CNN and I don't watch FOX!" I came back with "well, good for you....but I have to PAY for Bill Moyers on PBS and I pay for npr..how would YOU feel paying for Sean Hannity!?"

quiet.

Z--Thanks, hon, I was beginning to wonder if anyone noticed the fine email you sent me (Sunday is usually a slow day).

And GOOD FOR YOU for standing and singing and telling that guy not to watch so much CNN (He's getting his screwy ideas from SOMEWHERE!)
