Rachel Corrie Will Never Die

Rachel Corrie Family Asks Court To Reinstate Case Against Caterpillar
Associated Press

SEATTLE: The family of a woman killed trying to prevent the demolition of a Palestinian home in 2003 asked a federal appeals court panel to reinstate its lawsuit against Caterpillar Inc., saying the company knew bulldozers it sold to the Israeli government were being used to commit human rights violations.

"Caterpillar sold this product knowing — or it should have known — it would cause exactly this harm," one of the family's lawyers, Duke University law professor Erwin Chemerinsky told the three judges from the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Monday.

Rachel Corrie, a 23-year-old peace activist from Olympia, Washington, was crushed by a 60-ton Israeli bulldozer as she stood before a Palestinian home in the Gaza Strip. Her parents, Cindy and Craig Corrie, sued Peoria, Illinois-based Caterpillar, which manufactured the bulldozer, seeking to hold the company civilly liable for aiding and abetting human rights violations — the destruction of civilian homes.

Four Palestinian families whose relatives were killed or injured when the Israeli Defense Forces flattened their homes joined the Corries in filing suit.

What damned nonsense! God forbid someone murder someone else with a hammer--lest the hammer manufacturer be sued raggedy...

Rachel Corrie died because she was in a war zone ILLEGALLY.

She is not a Pali. She went there for fun and excitement. She, the little AMERICAN GOURNISHT, was going to fight the Israelis and win.

The nut houses are full of mistakes like Corrie.

The family should sue the Saudis for causing this conflict if they want to sue somebody.

Yes, nevermind that this girl was one of thse meddling, naive, leftist 'do-gooders' that assume they have the cure for the world.

The Israelis were demolishing those houses because that's where the Palis were keeping their stores of weapons--it's not like it was an ordinary neighborhood; the Palis store weapons in homes on purpose!

The bulldozer driver told her to move repeatedly--she did not and got trapped by a falling wall, if I am correct. This is NOT a case where she was targeted and murdered!

Someone should have told her the dangers of being in a war zone--and amongst people she had no clue about.

Rachel Corrie believed that angels protect fools from their own stupidity. She lived a sheltered, secure and "nice" life, she had no clue what war is, because she refused to educate herself in the FACTS. So she went tripping off as if to a safe and secure protest in her nice, safe college, with gentle security, poufy professors and tolerant admin types.
Then she picked the wrong side of a conflict and stuck her pampered self in the way...I have no sympathy for her and less for her leftista, naive parents!
Go home and grieve, but shut up, she was an illinformed fool. I would be ashamed.

Rachael Corrie and Casey Sheehan are both people who were exploited by their parents long after they went to their rewards. In these cases, I fault the living much more than the departed (though Corrie's foolishness is well-established).

Apparently, they're now saying Rachel Corrie was IN one of the houses (and they've thrown in a paraplegic friend in the deal who was also killed though "the driver knew they were in there")..what's the deal? originally, it was widely thought that she was in the road and kept coming up to the bulldozer (which is armored because they were always getting shot at and had a very small window because of the armoring) and got run over 'cause the guy that high couldn't even see her...no paraplegic mentioned.

From the lawyer who's representing her now came the names of the judges who're going to hear if the case goes anywhere...When the conservative lawyer on the same show (Hugh Hewitt) heard the names he said "Corrie's parents could very well win".
