This wildlife worship is thoroughly antediluvian, down to its human sacrifice component. Human beings should care for and be kind to animals. That's ethical (if not compulsory). But people's safety and survival must always trump that of animals.

My parents own some mountain property in TN. When we go hunting, not only do we bring our rifles, we holster a .357 for bears. That's right, given the opportunity they actually eat MEAT!
Does this lefty misunderstanding of real nature surprise anyone? We routinely find ourselves explaining basic human nature to these addled fools. Why would they understand the true nature of an animal with huge canines and the world's biggest claws? LOL!

Morgan-I've read all of Clancy's books, got them all packed up now. But the thinking is definitely horizontal to most people. There is a subset that actually believes humans must be killed off.
