The DU d'RAT Review
I created this blog as a response to the hypocrisy, nastiness, and negativity at Democratic Underground. The D'RATS do not allow disagreement on their site; they demand their posters tout their party line word-for-word. Any poster who does not march in lockstep is immediately banned. Their cowardice in this, and their calumny towards America's leaders, will not go unanswered as I address the issues of the day--and one of the most negative, detrimental influences in the blogosphere.

God Bless her.
She had a life of ease but one of heartbreak with her husband, though they apparently continued to be good friends through all she knew about him. I admire that she never exposed their situation, she always remained dignified and honorable and full of class. God rest her soul.
You are right Z, she had all the class in that marriage, and it looks like she passed it on to her 2 daughters!
It takes strength to carry on with dignity under those circumstances, I don't know anyone who has anything bad to say about her.
Grace under pressure, may we all do half as well. If we do, this country will be better than we got her!

Never really knew much about her--before my time. God Bless her and her Family!
Thanks, gang--yes, I can't imagine marriage to LBJ was easy, but God granted her 94 years, and she lived every one of them with grace and dignity.
I don't know how many of you know about her roadside beautification project, but when sissy and I were driving throughout the United States after I graduated from college in 1992, we'd see medians and roadsides full of flowers and think of her....
(Sissy, having long been out of the south, asked me south of Little Rock, why there were all those perfectly round rocks on the roadside... she couldn't look because she was driving and there were a lot of semis on the road we had to be careful of....
I told her to call 1-800-TURTLE and ask 'em...! LOL!)
What an honorable, kind American. She represents the good side of Americans to the world.
We need more Lady Bird Johnsons, and less Rosie O'Donnels.
easy there, florian...we are not amused.
(smile!!)
Beautiful memorial, Donal!
I was thinking about this tribute Donal posted and reading your remarks here, so lovely...and wondering how DU would memorialize a Republican widow.....any suggestions?
"She should have died earlier"
"Any scum married to that liar..."
