Not Even MORE Shady Dealings By the Dems?!!!

Another Colossal Democrat Rip-Off
By Carl Hiaasen

If your mother drove up in a new Cadillac Escalade, you'd probably say something like, ``Nice ride, Ma. Where'd you get it?''

We're supposed to believe that such an exchange never took place between U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek and his mother, former Rep. Carrie Meek, who's been enjoying an Escalade provided by a developer for whom her son has sought $4 million in federal funds.

Both the Meeks say they never discussed their respective roles in advancing Boston developer Dennis Stackhouse's ill-fated plans for the Poinciana Biopharmaceutical Park in Liberty City.
Perhaps mom and son should have chatted.

Miami-Dade officials pulled the plug on the project last week, after a Miami Herald series revealed that Stackhouse had diverted more than $500,000 from an anti-poverty agency while spending freely on lobbyists, lawyers and strategic campaign contributions.

Another black eye for the Democratic Black Caucus. Also from South Florida, Alcee Hastings, disgraced, impeached former Federal Judge convicted of taking bribes, now a Congressman for the 23rd District of FL. Do any of these folks run for office to serve their people? Seems like all they do is serve themselves.

Of course, who am I to talk? My Congressman is Alan Mollohan-D-WV, & presently under Grand Jury investigation for funnelling $250+ million in earmarks to several nonprofits he set up with friends & relatives. His net worth went from less than a quarter million to 11 million in 3 or 4 years.. How'd he do that on his Congressional salary? Had to resign his seat on the Ethics Committee over this one, the poor dear. Kept his seat on House Ways & Means, though, if you can imagine. Thought Madame Speaker was gonna run the most ethical Congress ever. That got shot all to hell, I guess.

"...Stackhouse had diverted more than $500,000 from an anti-poverty agency..."

Shouldn't this read, "Stackhouse scammed..." And when will they begin the prosecution for the swindle?

Great line Patsy..."Do any of these folks run for office to serve their people? Seems like all they do is serve themselves." This comment deserved repeating!

I never realized that non-profit organizations were so profitable! All the bigshots in Congress seems to own one!
