Dem Leadership Is Looney Tunes!
By Charles Hurt
John Edwards, who yesterday demanded Democratic candidates return any campaign donations from Rupert Murdoch and News Corp., himself earned at least $800,000 for a book published by one of the media mogul's companies.

Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.), chairman of the House Appropriations defense panel, has secured the most earmarked dollars in the 2008 military spending bill, followed closely by the panel’s ranking member Rep. Bill Young (R-Fla.).
Even though Young secured 52 earmarks, worth $117.2 million — and co-sponsored at least $27 million worth of others — Murtha’s 48 earmarks amount to a total of $150.5 million, according to a database compiled by the watchdog organization Taxpayers for Common Sense (TCS).

Pakistan Knocks Obama on Comments
NewsMax
Pakistan criticized U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama on Friday for saying that, if elected, he might order unilateral military strikes against terrorists hiding in this Islamic country.
Top Pakistan officials said Obama's comment was irresponsible and likely made for political gain in the race for the Democratic nomination.
"It's a very irresponsible statement, that's all I can say," Pakistan's Foreign Minister Khusheed Kasuri told AP Television News. "As the election campaign in America is heating up we would not like American candidates to fight their elections and contest elections at our expense."

Good Lord, Donal... what kind of party are they having? They really think they can lead the country with damn nonsense like this stuff?
The summer heat has gone to their heads (and that's the only thing up there...)
Is it possible the American electorate prefers the blatant hypocrisy, utter buffoonery and appalling wastefulness -- absolute nincompoopery --- of Democrats over Republicans????
According to many polls, this is the case, and the last election went the way of the Democrats. Although their performance, since they took over, is NOT what those who voted for them sent them there to do.
Sure seems like no matter who's in power in Washington DC, Democrats or Republicans, neither party does what they promise their constiuents when they get there.
The Republican Party, when they originally won back the Congress under the Contract with America in 1994, promised major reform.
After 12 years of holding control, look at what happened. We hardly recognized our Congressmen and Senators as Republicans, the skyrocketing earmarks and the major opposition constantly demonstrated agaisnt the President. You would have thought they'd become Democrats. No wonder we lost the election in 2006.
Of course, now that the Democrats have had 7 and a half months back at the helm, we see just how extreme they are. Republicans don't even register on the scale, in comparison to this new Congress.
The Democrats running for President, with the possible exception of Hillary Clinton, would not be a serious threat to anyone in a game of tiddily winks.
We are the most powerful nation on Earth, and we're at war, we can't have Barack Obama, John Edwards, Dennis Kuchinich or Bill Richardson as Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces and President of the United States. Get real!
Hillary Clinton; she wouldn't be trustworthy as President. She wasn't trustworthy when she was First Lady and she isn't trustworthy now as the junior Senator from New York.
She'll say and promise anything to get elected, but what she will do once elected..... you know she's all about her own hidden, secretive agendas.
The one thing we know for sure about Hillary: we have no idea who she is -
WHO SHE REALLY IS.
Speaking of nincompoopery and real leadership....
Without mentioning a specific threat to the Capitol, Senate Minority Whip Trent Lott (R-Miss.) ominously advised Thursday that Congress needed to pass changes to terrorist surveillance laws before leaving for the August recess and warned that otherwise “the disaster could be on our doorstep.”
When asked if people should leave Washington, D.C., during the month of August, Lott responded, “I think it would be good to leave town in August, and it would probably be good to stay out until September the 12th.”
Notice again how Les cannot address the issue at hand, and changes the subject. Why are you so weak, man?
The honorable gentleman from Mississippi, Senator Trent Lott, is referring to a serious threat to our national security. Specifically, the vindictive Senator from Maryland, "Leaky" Leahy, who will use anything to further his impeachment plans for President Bush, no matter how many terrorists evade detection & capture in the process.
Leahy's committee has held up the resolution of vital intelligence-gathering legislation enabling the interception of overseas calls by known terrorists utilizing Americans telephone equipment. The price for moving the legislation forward? The release of secret, executive-privileged documents, i.e., a fishing expedition.
The truth is, Leahy has no intention of enhancing the NSA's intellgence-gathering abilities. He doesn't believe this Administration deserves any respect for anything it's done to protect this nation. He hates the President & Vice President so much that he isn't objective.
Senator Leahy should be relieved of his duties as Judiciary Committee Chariman & expelled for violating his Oath of Office. The man is a disgrace, whose vendetta has consumed him & diminished what little mental faculties he once possessed. His personal animus violates the part of his oath pertaining to the clause "without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion."
Leahy and all other Congressmen & Senators whose primary allegiance is to MoveOn.org, must be removed from our legislative bodies, before they get us all killed.
There is a book out somewhere, "Unintended Consequences". I didn't like the aggressive sexuality of the book, but there was a very good point, pc was so bad that the "average joe" started taking matters into their own hands. And several senators and congressman, past and present at the time, were reintroduced to a little rough justice. I AM NOT ADVOCATING VIOLENCE, so don't get your knickers in a knot, BUT the point was made that soon enough will be enough.
Unless the state of Mass. breaks off and sinks like Atlantis! And Kennedy, Leahy and crew HAVE no state to represent!
tmw
You know, the Republican Congress lost for a number of reasons, but this Dem bunch is turning out to be the sorriest collection of legislators in the HISTORY of the US Congress.
I HATE to site polls, but this one CANNOT BE AVOIDED! Zogby ran a poll asking how Americans felt about the Congress' "handling" of the Iraq War. Whatever that means. The Democrat Congress got a 3% approval rating!!!! That might mean 6% or it MIGHT mean 0%!!!! That HAS to be some sort of all time record. Has anyone EVER heard of such a thing? The Dem elevator has crashed straight through the damned floor! Holy ---- are these wackos in for a stunning defeat in the next election.
Morgan
I do hope you are right Morgan. The empty suits chairing the armed services committee, judiciary committee, ways & means, etc., etc., etc. are downright dangerous.
All they care about is carrying out MoveOn.org's vendetta against the Bush Administration, thereby dealing a fatal blow to conservatism. Or so the folks at MoveOn.org believe, anyway.
Since when does George Soros & Company dictate the agendas of the legislative bodies of the United States of America? Democrats sold out their entire party, you know that? There are laws against that.
Do you suppose we will find any Republican candidates with the cajones to do what needs to be done if they regain power?
Patsy it is VITAL that we win the upcoming Presidential AND Congressional elections. The Supreme Court depends on it. The left has entrenched themselves at State and the CIA and this bunch of moles has to be cleaned out ASAP! The next Republican President will have to do that no matter what. If he hasn't learned a lesson from Bush's failed "new tone" he's too stupid to lead the country.
Morgan,
You have a link for those poll numbers you cite?
Les, I saw the same poll results that Morgan did, if that means anything.
The poll is actually posted at DU.
Try this link:

Thank you, Patsy for providing that link to the poll that Les can find at DU--I always said they're a helluva resource! LOL!
Aren't they though?????
You suppose Les Isabsolutelyless will accept DU as a reliable source for the poll result report?
Hehehehe.
Oh I can't stand this, it's too funny!!!!!!
Thanks for the link. Interesting results if you read the entire poll at Zogby.
Doesnt bode well for our 'war president' either.
That doesn't really matter, Les (and you Demmies stack those polls anyway); President Bush isn't running for office again.
Figures, Les IsClueLess. You have nothing to say about the unbelievably low poll number for Congress. You asked for the link and then have no response about the crux of the argument Morgan was making. You really are a gutless piece of crap. Typical liberal garbage.
" You really are a gutless piece of crap."
Patsy, please get back on your meds. You go from making cogent well thought out arguments to shrill expletives.
But back to Morgans point. Yes, Congress is trusted by 3% of running the war in Iraq. Of course for those of us who have read the constitution know that Congress is not supposed to be running the war, just funding it. That question is like saying how many people think Congress should be running the local 7-11.
And Patsy you gutless piece of crap, remember, Congress is made up of 52% Dems and the rest are Republicans. It doesnt show well for your buddies there either.
Being a Democrat means never having to be consistent.
And being RS means never having to be right. On anything.
