Ain't It the Truth? Always, From Lucianne.com...
I created this blog as a response to the hypocrisy, nastiness, and negativity at Democratic Underground. The D'RATS do not allow disagreement on their site; they demand their posters tout their party line word-for-word. Any poster who does not march in lockstep is immediately banned. Their cowardice in this, and their calumny towards America's leaders, will not go unanswered as I address the issues of the day--and one of the most negative, detrimental influences in the blogosphere.

Well, sort of...

Never let a fact get in the way of a good story.
LES--I know that as much as you wish to trash America and express your disdain for this country, Snopes, to the best of it's knowledge, says the quote coming from Lee is quite probable.
The real question--and the one you have clumsily tap-danced around (as most libbies do) is, if he had not said it--and Mark Twain had, or H.L.Mencken, or Greely etc.--would it be any less true?
And how is this trashing America? Pointing out a plainly, haggard old quote, attributed to so many over the past 100 years?
I enjoyed the quote, heard it a couple of times over the years, always attributed to someone else. But you should let your readers know that it isnt correctly attributed to Lee or anyone for that matter.
LES--I'm only going by the link YOU gave me and what it said! LOL!
SNOPES: I quote: "...the evidence weighs in favor" of it being attributable to Robert E. Lee.
However, AGAIN, I ask, if someone else had said it, would it be any LESS true of you and your Demmie minions in the press? Your trying to fight this war in retrospect--and with the hope that we lose it--is PAINFULLY obvious. THAT'S trashing this country!
HAHAHAHA! Jeez, Less-ster, don't try and prove a point by using a source that backs up the opposite - you're too funny!
Bobcat, anybody can read the quote from the link that LES provided--it says it WAS probably Lee who said it LOL!
