Hillary Frags Pakistan Over Bhutto's Death

Hillary Frags Pakistan
James Lewis

While the world holds its breath to see if Pakistan will explode, Senator Hillary Clinton tossed a fragmentation grenade into the fireworks factory
yesterday. It may be the most irresponsible and selfish act by a presidential candidate in history.

"I don't think the Pakistani government at this time under President Musharraf has any credibility at all. They have disbanded an independent judiciary. They have oppressed a free press," she said. (Italics added)

Naturally, she also said, "I don't think politics should be playing a role in how our country responds ... to the tragedy." (italics added)

Well, she just did exactly that by denouncing President Musharraf, who has been targeted by four assassination attempts himself, and is desperately trying to keep Pakistan from falling apart. He's the one who controls those nukes that we don't want Al Qaida to get. You don't have to like him to realize that weakening his position right now is wildly irresponsible. It plays right into the hands of those who want civil war.

Suppose you're Al Qaida, and you just congratulated itself on the killing of Benazir Bhutto --- the second suicide bombing of her motorcade in a month. You now know that a likely President of the United States is on your side.

Suppose you're a Pakistani Army commander. You now know that a major candidate in the United States hates your boss. But the Pak Army is the only thing holding the country together.

Every world leader is walking on tippy-toes for fear Pak will explode. But Senator Hillary Clinton just exploited the tragedy of Bhutto's death in the most cynical and self-serving way, by tossing a smoking bomb at President Musharraf and cheerfully yelling "Catch!"

Yes, Obama and McCain are also scrambling to point out how qualified they are. But only Senator Clinton is falling back to her bomb-throwing radical days and trying to make things worse. Just for a headline, to show how smart she is. It is cynical, reckless, and stupid.

Well, Clinton has just disqualified herself from leading the United States at the most delicate and dangerous time since the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962.

hey DONAL! We're back from a great time in the Smokies. Hurt myself, long story, so my posts will be short and infrequent. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.

Did you fall down the slopes or have a 'meeting of the minds' with another skier? Or did you mess up your knees?
clinton is a fool and an arrogant wannabe control freak! We definitely don't need THAT as a chief executive!

Whoa Morgan...Sounds like you had more adventure than you wanted.

About this article...Hillary is never going to learn when to keep her mouth shut. It's called diplomacy, Hill...and just plain common sense!

tmw and chomp, here's what happened. i was downhill skiing with my 22 year old son marcus and we were on the final run down the second most difficult slope. so naturally it became a race! on the final turn downhill the way was clear so i started really flying. a snowboarder cut in front of me, 30 ft. or so and fell. i cut right to avoid him-straight or left and i could have killed him-and collided with a 4x4 barrier pole. i played football for years and never had such a collision.
long story short, separated shoulder (a/c separation) more black and blue areas than a baltimore ravens fan jersey and some cracked ribs.

sorry about the ugly one-handed typing. eventually i'll sit up long enough to read the article and comment intelligently on it. :-)

"In recent years, Pakistan has been the home of banks that wired money for the 9/11 plot, been the chief source of illicit nuclear proliferation, offered a tribal-area haven for planners of worldwide terrorism, abetted the reconstitution of the Taliban and educated many a suicide bomber in Islamic religious schools.

At the same time, President Pervez Musharraf, in power since a 1999 coup, has received about $10 billion in U.S. aid, much of it to reinforce the Pakistani military in fighting Al Qaeda, the Taliban and global jihadism in South Waziristan and other tribal areas."

So, how do you defend Musharraf now after this atrocity?

Your pal,

So "how do we defend Musharraf after this atrocity"?

You seem to be assuming Mushy had a hand in the murder. We may never know, but you sound like the sorta person MOST responsible for installing the ayatollahs in place of the Shah in Iran. Oh boy hasn't that leftist cluster fornication of a policy worked out well!
The shah was another of those "imperfect" American allies that kept the lunatics at bay in the Arab/muzzie world. He was also an American ally and that's EXACTLY why the leftists hated and demonized him.
That's also the real reason you lefties hate Mushy. Now, thanks to the alternative media you guyts will be held responsible for the messes that you make.

A question for you les;
How would YOU solve the Pakistani dilemma? After your beloved "talking" and "aggressive diplomacy" fails, what then? This is where you leftists become dangerous to everyday Americans.

Hello, Les! Re-read this:

"The War On Terror--and Why We Haven't Found Osama bin Laden"

Link is on my sidebar. Pakistan is a COMPLICATED issue. We have often had to play decent with the devil to avoid the entire, subcontinent from going up.

After WWII, Pakistan and India were some of the first countries, outside of western powers, to develop nukes--we're lucky they have been as peaceful as they have.

You get plenty of rest and don't worry about writing if you don't feel like it! We'll keep those prayers a-going for you!

Gee Morgan...Sounds like a terrible spill! I have seen pics of skiers cartwheeling down the slopes and across rocks. Was that you?

Glad to see that you and your son made it home safe...a little busted up...but safe!
