Whites Can't Make Blacks Happy

Whites Can't Make Blacks Happy
By James Lewis

One of the creepy things about our "need to have a conversation about race" is the assumption that whites can somehow make blacks feel better, or be happier, or be more self-accepting. Nobody has the power to do that, except what individuals do for themselves, one person at a time.

Most people don't come close to lasting happiness in their own lives. So the popular Leftist charge of America's "institutional racism" comes down to saying that "The Great White Conspiracy is responsible for rescuing you from your bad feelings." That is just cockeyed.

Far too many black people don't feel good about themselves, and are constantly looking for answers from somebody else. That quest for the impossible has been turned into an accusation against the invisible but all-powerful white racist establishment. Michelle and Barack Obama were indoctrinated with those toxic beliefs at Princeton and Harvard, so that they are now making more than a million bucks a year, living in a mansion in Chicago while still feeling sorry for themselves. Give me a break.

I couldn't agree with Mr. Lewis more. This new leftist mantra of "having a racial conversation" grates my nerves friggin raw! What the hell more is there to say?

1. Get an education
2. Keep a paying job
3. Avoid felonies, crack & cocaine
4. Treat your mom and wife/girlfriend with respect
5. Behave like VESTED Americans!

I wrote about this subject at my blog. Give it a look.

Absoulty the truth Morgan. For some, blacks and whites, racism is a business and as long as that remains a fact this ''conversation on race'' can talk itself blue in the face for all I care. My ancestors served in the Union Army, I don't owe any American black a damn thing! J'Mac.

Johnny my ancestors were much more recent than that. My dad does remember growing up in Syracuse, NY and seeing "No Jews Or Dogs Allowed" signs on lake beaches in the summer. As the children of immigrants, my aunts and uncles understood the upside of this great country, with their unlimited upward mobility. Their parents and aunts and uncles told them stories of the "old country" and it's pogroms. America's promise transcended it warts even then.

Of course I needn't tell YOU this since the Irish suffered some of the same hateful treatment.

Think of that exercise as the HATEFUL tasting medicine we used to take as kids. LOL! Of course, remember NOT to pinch your nose while exercising.

Happiness is a choice, and if you bad mouth your life long enough, it will look miserable!
I could work up a great case of unhappy, IF I CHOSE TOO. I refuse,
And what Morgan said...in other words, GROW UP and start acting like an ADULT!

Look, nobody can make anyone else happy. Nobody change anybody else. You can only change yourself, you can only make yourself happy. Our country affords us the opportunities to have a successful life and the pursuit of happiness. That's not a guarantee of happiness. The obtaining of happiness is up to you.

In this wonderful America, you take your happiness with you wherever you go, or you take your misery .... it's up to you.

I wish I had a million bucks so that I could feel sorry for myself, and so that I could run for public office and tell everyone how America ruined my life?????

Chomp your last post made LOTS of common sense. We all have hurdles and difficulties in life. Once we remove the problems that occur due to plain bad luck, we are left with the other problems.

THOSE problems always have one common denominator; YOU!

Once we take ownership of our lives--and accept G-d--we live far happier and more fulfilled lives.
My unscientific guess is that the Dems get 85% of the "unhappy" vote, you know, the people who are convinced that they are always being screwed over by life and events. The perpetual victims who think they are only poor or middle class because some greedy schmuck is sticking it to him will vote for the Dems every time because the Dems promise REVENGE!

It's mentally and emotionally easier than taking ownership of your life and doing the HARD things that improve your lot in life.

IMHO this is a LARGE part of the black experience. It's exacerbated by race hustlers and the thug culture.
