Morning all!
Morgan-I agree, it is a rotten, stinking, steaming mess!
But in reading Ezekiel, I am struck by how G*D has,"...seen the End from the Beginning."
I may be covering some of Ezekiel's chapters later on. Right now the minor prophets are so relavent today!
Injustice stalks the land, that is a judgment.
G*D bless and Maranatha!

I am in an abominable mood over it, and other things. Dammit, Jingo, come on the board and write about it; I miss you and we'd all love to hear from you!

Lefty traitors? Who are the lefty traitors in this case? I think it was a Republican who was convicted of lying to a grand jury, of impeding an investigation into the disclosure of a covert agent working the WMD desk.

these's no sense anyone answering les ismore... the lefties will never believe it, see their great wrong, or admit it was just a political stunt to 'get' somebody in the bush admin.

This wasn't about Plame--and she wasn't covert! It was about Libby's answers to the Fitzmas inquisition. Either he forgot what he said or the people he conversed with forgot or either/or lied about it.

Of course Libby couldnt lie, we all know that, this is the accountibility administration. It had to be everyone else. The vast left wing conspiracy.

ANON--You cannot prove he deliberately lied. Since you cannot, it is not fair to ASSUME that he did. Maybe shoddy thinking and snide reflections find purchase at DU or KOS, but here, you'll have to back up what you say with facts.

Playing perjury gotcha is unprincipled. What happened is that Fitz questioned Libby over and over until he didn't tell it EXACTLY the same way, and then Fitz pounced. No way a man should be forced to spend 6 million dollars and 25 years of his life for a stunt like that.

Why can't you Libbies ever get honest about anything, just ONCE?

BINGO..the truth, in so few words,in a cartoon.

Who's Fitzie working for, folks? $$$

ANON--Here, Krauthammer says it most succinctly:

"Scooter Libby has just been convicted for four felonies that could theoretically give him 25 years in jail for ... what? Misstating when he first heard a certain piece of information, namely the identity of Joe Wilson's wife."

The lousy Dems show an APALLING lack of character when they would scheme to put this man behind bars simply because they dislike who he worked for. You need to get your 'moral' house in order; nobody that does something like this is in any way good people.

"WASHINGTON — Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich acknowledged he was having an extramarital affair even as he led the charge against President Clinton over the Monica Lewinsky affair, he acknowledged in an interview with a conservative Christian group."...

"The president of the United States got in trouble for committing a felony in front of a sitting federal judge," the former Georgia congressman said of Clinton's 1998 House impeachment on perjury and obstruction of justice charges. "I drew a line in my mind that said, 'Even though I run the risk of being deeply embarrassed, and even though at a purely personal level I am not rendering judgment on another human being, as a leader of the government trying to uphold the rule of law, I have no choice except to move forward and say that you cannot accept ... perjury in your highest officials."

ANON--What does that have to do with anything? Many men have affairs. Few lie to a grand Jury about it while President of the United States. ONE man DID.

People will forget Newt's deal in two days, as soon as the msm gets through trying to make it much bigger than it is.

Personally, I think marrying your own teacher is higher on the creepy scale than admitting to an affair, but that's just me, I guess.

They're already really misconstruing things like the wife in her hospital bed. The truth now seems to be, and this is from her, that he DISCUSSED the divorce plans with her while she was hospitalized, not what the msm made it look like since that all happened, letting us believe that he ASKED for a divorce while she was in the hospital.

Same old, same old.......the msm rules. Americans get lied to and make their voting decisions on that. typical.

Fred THompson for president..or VP for Rudy or Newt.

No, the point is that Newt holds a double standard on two accounts. First his affair while hounding a duly elected President for a consensual affair. But remember it wasnt the affair, it was the lying. Second count is getting on his high horse to talk about the lying before a grand jury by a high government official. Now, lets see...what other government official was recently accused and convicted of lying to a grand jury?

But Libby didn't lie. He only "Misstated when he first heard a certain piece of information, namely the identity of Joe Wilson's wife."--there's a difference.

And, for the record, EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO TESTIFIED ALSO HAD IMPERFECT RECOLLECTION THAT WAS DISPUTED BY OTHERS.

That Libby is the one going to jail is the HEIGHT of double standards of you people. Clinton's lies were proven by a record verbatim of his own testimony--and by DNA. They had NO evidence on Libby but the also-imperfect memories of contradicted men who deliberately wanted to ruin him.

You can HARDLY call that equitable.

I dont think Tim Russert, Bob Woodward, Matt Cooper and others wanted to ruin Libby, do you? For what reason? He was a great source for them over the years.

Oh, nooooooo--they thoroughly support the president and his staff; you can hear it everytime they open they're mouths.

Don't be naive! They are ALL dedicated anti-Bushies! LOL! ANON, that was funny!
