No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

FROM DU: Cal Ripken Joining the BushCo Diplomatic Corps, Will Work With Karen Hughes:

Notice to the Press
Office of the Spokesman
Washington, DC
August 9, 2007

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will announce Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. as a Special Sports Envoy to the Department of State on Monday, August 13, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. in the Dean Acheson Auditorium of the U.S. Department of State.

In this capacity Mr. Ripken will join Karen P. Hughes, Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs and the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs in efforts promoting cross-cultural dialogue with international youth to increase understanding of America by sharing his impressive personal story and life experiences.

He will reach out to a worldwide audience of young people while visiting their schools and clubs, hosting baseball skills clinics, and sharing the keys to his success: character, hard work and perseverance.

--After Karen explains the joys of driving, and Cal explains the joy of the diamond, the world's women and children will grovel at our feet...

--Figures that weird eyed robot would be a shill for the pugs.

--Who? nobody knows who he is... An international soccer star yes but, an old baseball player, no. How can anyone at this level be so out of touch with reality? I'm really dumbfounded at their ignorance.

--Is Cal Ripken that fucking stupid?

--Another reason not to spend a dime at a pro baseball game...

Nevermind that this is a decent thing for this man to do. Nevermind that the job has noble objectives... No, if Cal Ripken and the job is anywhere near President Bush then, in the eyes of the Democrats, it's suddenly an evil thing... They want to punish all of professional baseball because of this one man's decision.

Demmies, how small can you be? How low can you go?

Thanks for posting this. Signing up Cal Ripken to work with Karen Hughes makes sense. She has no feel for the Middle East either and her initial job was to increase our popularity there. Just when you think these guys cant do anything more lame-brained they always seem to out do themselves.

I think it's a good thing that Cal Ripkin wants to do something for his country that is positive. I guess he took Pres. Kennedy's words about "...ask what you can do for your country."
Good morning, G*D bless and Maranatha!

Notice how the Left wants to be in control of every governmental decision. Les is particularly infuriated because Bush didn't call him first. The delusions of power, the delusions of importance, and the pant-wetting, grade-school, temper-tantrum-throwing, "But I want it MMYYYYY way" is never more on display when the Left whines about lower-level governmental appointments.

What I'd like is to see something of what Karen Hughes is doing. I've been wondering how she's been going after what she's been charged to do. Maybe, with Ripken included, it'll get a little press.
The last thing I heard from her is how Islam is a peaceful religion and we need to reach out.
I hope Ripken hits that silliness out of the park.

Of course, Anon, if that WASN'T the message put forth, the left would slam this administration as being prejudicial and not enlisting allies so, either way, you'll get your digs in.

Bush can't win with you people - you have the deck firmly stacked against him. Absent his mistakes, media manufactured 'mistakes', you'll sabotage it yourselves.
