Not Very Ecumenical--Or Brave--Of You, John...

University of Florida Student Tasered, Arrested During John Kerry Forum
FoxNews

A University of Florida student was Tasered and arrested Monday when he attempted to speak at a forum with U.S. Sen. John Kerry during a question and answer session, university officials said.

Andrew Meyer, 21, asked Kerry why he did not contest the 2004 presidential election, which he lost toPresident Bush, and why there had been no moves to impeach Bush.

"He apparently asked several questions — he went on for quite awhile — then he was asked to stop," university spokesman Steve Orlando said. "He had used his allotted time. His microphone was cut off then he became upset."

While as many as four police officers tried to remove Meyer from the forum, he yelled for help and asked "What did I do?" Minutes after Meyer started speaking, he was Tasered.

Meyer was charged with resisting an officer and disturbing the peace, according to Alachua County jail records. No bond had been set. Meyer was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning, a jail official said.

UF Student Tasered At John Kerry Speech

Kerry's Taser Lag: "It's All About Me!"
By
Kevin McCullough

Like you I am a little stunned at the harsh over reaction by campus cops to the asking of John Kerry a few rather odd questions by one very strong supporter of liberals and liberal conspiracy theories (like Kerry actually winning in 2004.)

First off - even though the kid's questions are odd - they are nonetheless supportive of Kerry, who had the power to call the police off the student. He does not do so. Think about how pathetic and inept Kerry looks in the scenario. He is unable to with any effective communication skills take control of the conversation much less the situation. AND HE WANTED TO RUN THE FREE WORLD? How would he have fared up against Ahmadinejad, who is no doubt considerably and simultaneously more crazy and intelligent than this college kid?

Secondly - notice if you listen carefully Kerry says some almost equally bizarre things. He tells the crowd to keep cool. He apologizes for what they are having to "see." Things like, "too bad he can't come up here and swear me in." (Yes John Kerry - even as the kid is getting volts run through him in front of your very eyes - it's STILL all about you!)

Thirdly - these two really deserve each other, and the whole thing is a really clear picture of what "free speech" looks like in the eyes of liberals. Ask an oddball question or two - and that's it hustle him out and taser him.

Fourthly - anyone notice the number of empty seats? This man was the Democrats top man on the ballot, the room doesn't look terribly big...

Fifthly - the cries of "police brutality" and "Rodney King" are laughable. Sure I think this is all an overreaction to an otherwise stupid and obnoxious college kid. And yes it is painful to hear him holler through the tasering, but Rodney King?

Of course those in the room could always be comforted by the malevolent drone of Kerry assuring them that he WILL answer the question - because it's a "good question..."

What you had here was the political equivalent of a drunk driver running head on into the headlights of an on-coming train. You have to wonder if it could be avoided, but what the heck were the train tracks doing there in the first place...

Immediately After the Fracas...

I don't know which part of the Democrat party comes off looking worse: a crazy protester--or a feckless Kerry. Thank GOD, he never got any nearer a presidential inauguration than this. Can you imagine him trying to keep us safe? (He couldn't have kept Dorothy's Toto safe...)

That was a funny video...I was laughing the whole time. I was hoping they would taser him again when he tried to sit down as they were leading him out.

The 1st amendment does not cover being a jerk in public.

He kept talking like they were going to 'disappear' him. That the young folk even think that will happen in this country is amazing.

What a dope. I hope his folks vote Conservative and see this.

A good day to everyone.

While this does seem a little severe a response, this is part and parcel of how young kids, well, kids in this age group act nowadays. They're rude, arrogant, pugnacious and seem to feel that like some spoiled little brat, and combined with that liberal elitist attitude that tells them "I'm right therefore I can scream my head off'', they're always amazaed and angry when they find out the hard way what it is to be told and then made to shut up. J'Mac.

As far as I'm concerned, it shows them EQUALLY in a bad light--which is just about what you can expect from the left!

I saw the footage of this incident. For the life of me I couldn't see what the student said to John Kerry that was out of line. Why did the police shut him up? I think his rights were totally violated. The police were dead wrong.

I think it was that he was showing Kerry up to be ineffectual--as he is--but ineffectual to the leftists (they don't mind if WE think he's ineffectual--they just say we're wrong). But the True Believers can't have ANYBODY really exercise free speech--esp. not one of their own. They threw him out of there as fast as....wellll, as fast as I've been thrown off DU!

I'm getting different versions of this story. Hannity says that the kid ran up to the mic and took it from someone else. Then started asking asinine, conspiratorial questions. IF that's true I'm glad he got his sorry little punk ass tasered.

I think the spoiled little s--t was trying to cause a scene. We are seeing the down side of the u-tube revolution. Every idiot jerk tries to get on TV, no matter what it takes.

Didn't John Kerry just bathe himself in glory?
