--Wow. my biggest fear and i have stated several times in posts, that at some point, SOMEONE is going to snap. It may be someone on the left, or it may be someone on the right. It now appears that it may be from the right.

I am too cynical to believe that Randi was a random mugging. She is too well known, especially for her outspokenness, but once it starts, it will be extremely difficult to stop. It could, literally, end in an ideology war between conservatives and liberals, that will rip this country apart.

A war that will be bloody, and claim lives and, once it starts, all grievances will be addressed. We won't be able to hide from the freepers (conservatives/posters at FreeRepublic.com), the freepers won't be able to hide from us, the politicians will not be protected by their gated communities... the shit will, literally, hit the fan.

Too bad Americans don't care enough to deal with the situation, but would rather ignore, whistling past the graveyard, until it is too late. Hell, maybe this is what has to happen before we can start to take our country back. I hope not. Randi, please heal as fast as you can, we need you. (ldf)

Watching the clouds grow darker on the horizon, watching the millions of individual events signalling the transition of America from what it was 1776-2000 and whatever it will eventually become, of which this incident (if further information corroborates this to not have been a robbery, and if the perps aren't caught, which they likely won't be because Randi is a New Jew and her attakers then would be New Nazis, as it were, then we will know as close as we can to certainty without ironclad proof what is going on) is just another step and one which signals that we are getting well along now.

What's useless is watching all that and denying it because it's an Inconvenient Truth, perhaps the most inconvenient of the lost of them we have to deal with these days. I, for one, am willing to wait to hear what Randi has to say and to see if the cops do an "Anthrax Investigation" and the persp walk scot-free (that's my bet) before making final judgement. THE TRUTH: Was Talk Show Host Randi Rhodes Jumped By 14 Ketel Ones?

When it was reported that a couple of hoods had jumped Air America talk show host Randi Rhodes and knocked out some of her teeth, leftists and wobblies cried foul. "Right wing hate machine!" said John Elliot, a fellow host on AAR. Maybe there is one of those but Air America has retracted its claim that she was mugged at all.

"On Sunday evening, October 14, Air America host Randi Rhodes experienced an unfortunate incident hindering her from hosting her show. The reports of a presumed hate crime are unfounded." Poor Randi! But maybe, suggests a reader, it was an alcohol crime?

Randi Rhodes was no more assaulted by a right-wing fanatic on Monday than Dick Cheney was. She, in fact, fell down and injured her teeth outside of a Midtown Irish bar at around 6 o'clock Sunday evening after downing about fourteen Ketel One Bloody Marys. She was abusive to the barstaff and generally gross, crass, loud, and pretentious. I genuinely hope she has a speedy recovery.

I never would've disclosed this (I believe that anyone should feel free to hang out at Irish pubs at any time and not be concerned about someone publishing their behavior) if Air America hadn't grossly interpreted a drunken indiscretion and allowed it to be morphed into some bullish rhetoric on air. Whatever journalistic integrity the station may have ever had is now completely compromised. The manipulation of the public diminishes any cause, whether just or fabricated.
