The Ugliness Of the Left...
By Joe Kovacs
Moments after White House Press Secretary Tony Snow's new personal battle against cancer became public yesterday, a vicious assault was launched at left-leaning websites, with some message posters hoping for a swift death for the presidential spokesman.
"Under the heading of 'What goes around comes around', the cancer in Tony Snow is removing the cancer of Tony Snow from the national scene," wrote TDoff on the D.C. gossip site Wonkette.com.
Omnilation wrote, "Dear Tony, I hate you. -God."
A contributor called homofascist stated, "It is a bitch that I wouldn't wish upon even a smarmy, evil f---face liar like Snow. Because really, isn't he OUR smarmy, evil f---face liar?"

This guy must have been out of ideas for a column. Out of the millions of people who read these blogs there are a handful of a.) certified wackjobs that in no way represent the mainstream left or right and b.) trolls who throw bombs just to get the other side fired up. For example, who is to say that some right-wing wanna be doesnt go onto DU and say "all Republicans must die" and then go over to their favorite Winger site and say "Look! over there at DU! Look what Omnibal just said! They are such horrible people!"
That is the great thing about the internets, there is no accoutability for "spoofing" the left or the right.
You know, I just read the comments and they are pretty shameful. Most wish him well, but a handful show a complete lack of empathy for Snow.
Not that this is any excuse but have you ever read the comments on LGF? Sickening also.
Remember your Karma, lefties... >:)
LES--I have ALWAYS heard that claim from lefties--rather than take responsibility for the hate that is so prevalent on the left--you all insist on saying a rightwinger 'planted' the comments to make your side look bad. That's a SHAMEFUL thing to say. You need to man up and realize who you're among.
P.S. If you have a beef with LGF, take it over there.
Sorry, Les Ismore, I've NEVER seen the hate I see coming from the left.
This from the ''peace'' and 'tolerance'' crowd. These little cannibals make the Hitler Youth look like the Salvation Army by comparison. I can't imagine what it must be like to be one of these malcontents. What a horrible way to go through life, what a souless, angry emptiness exsistence. Johnnymac
Do you believe that Dkos' "screw them" was an aberration, also Les? How about wishing for Bush to die on a chicken bone? Remember that one? I won't do your homework for you.
I have read the comments at LGF -- the ones that seem to annoy the liberals most are the "nuke the ragheads" variety. Given what Islam has done to the West from about 300 AD until now, I can't say that I'm entirely unsympathetic with that viewpoint. However, I don't ever recall posts at LGF wishing for the death of individuals.
And how about Ann Coulter wishing Timothy McVeigh bombed the NY Times building or contemplating what would be easier, impeachment or assasination for a sitting, duly elected President. It works both ways, if you dont believe it stop over to LGF or Lucianne Goldberg. Or more close to home, how about one of your regular posters saying how it would "make his decade" to shoot some "lefties". Not sure if he wanted to kill shoot them in the back, execution style or whatever. Yes, that kind of hatred is right here, in our own neighborhood.
I think the point Left Ismore is trying to make is that it goes both ways. Yes, there is hatred on the right as there is on the left. But a comments section is no place to troll for sentiment of a particular group. Half of these people are "certified wack jobs" in LGF, Lucianne, Kos, DU or whatever. There is no accoutability and probably 50% are Cheetos eating agorophobics, presenting themselves as decorated war heroes, intellectuals, or something else.
Personnally I find most of the posters here thoughtful and respectful. I look regularly for comments by TMW, Batya and of course Donal. And Left Ismore,...although I don't necessarily agree with your politics, I enjoy reading your point of view.
