The Gay community of San Francisco is a mistake. It just came from hundreds of thousands of Gays moving to California to feel free to be themselves. Better if they were dead.
Or...
The country of Pakistan is a mistake. Four million people were killed in the Partition of 1948 to create a Muslim Pakistan. Now Pakistan has nukes and is a danger to India. It would be better had it never existed.
Or how about this?
Muslim-majority Lebanon is a mistake. Until a few decades ago, Lebanon was majority Christian. Better if they were all dead.
Or...
Two million Pakistani Londoners are a mistake. They should be in Lahore, where they belong.
Or...
Jewish New York is a mistake. The grandparents of today’s Jews should have stayed in Poland, Russia and Germany.
Such a famous WaPo columnist would be out of a job the next day. Just as Harvard’s President was fired simply for wondering in public why there are so few first-rate female mathematicians and Nobel-winning scientists.
But Richard Cohen still has his job today after writing

WHen, oh WHEN is our Left going to stop disappointing? I didn't know the term "self hating Jew" went that far back........how very sad. Richard Cohen used to make sense..I actually looked very forward to his articles, but not since Iraq. I even liked CHris Matthews ...BEFORE IRAQ. Iraq has changed much in this country...it's made such division, so much angst and ugliness.....

I have to stop reading DU! The posts (most of them) make me want pull my hair out (and I wear it very long) or start drinking early.
The comments I see concerning Americans stuck in Lebanon are sickening. With the exception of a couple of posters (specifically ProgDonkey - almost sounded like a conservative, his comments, he is a 1000+ poster, got him on several peoples ignore list. It is amazing that these 'open-minded' people cannot take dissent or open debate without getting mad and shutting down or calling you a racist\sexist.
I have some liberal friends, but none are as COMPLETELY RETARDED as the folks on DU.
I need a drink.

Wonderful post DONAL! VERY powerful and compelling points. We Jews are beset with more than our share of self loathing idiots who are seemingly suicidal in their stupidity. Here's the problem, they were never in the military. Being part of the force that defends this great country would permanently change many outlooks and attitudes.

In the bigger picture, I think this is emblimatic of what the Jewish people face as our greatest challenge to our survival: defeating the self-loathing humanists who seek to destroy Judaism and Israel. The enemy within is more serious of a threat to Jews than any other people, as we have proven ourselves so vulnerable to the charms of the "do-gooders". To my dismay, the largest percentage of leftists in any faith group demographic is that of my own people.
