Huh??? I Hope This Isn't True...

'Bush Doesn't Think America Should Be An Actual Place'

President Bush believes America should be more of an idea than an actual place, a Republican congressman told WND in an exclusive interview.

"People have to understand what we're talking about here. The president of the United States is an internationalist," said Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo. "He is going to do what he can to create a place where the idea of America is just that – it's an idea. It's not an actual place defined by borders. I mean this is where this guy is really going."

Tancredo lashed out at the White House's lack of action in securing U.S. borders, and said efforts to merge the U.S. with both Mexico and Canada is not a fantasy.

This sounds like some dippy hippy notion; the D'RATS oughta just love this...

Here's what I'd love someone to tell me. You have probably all heard about this super highway being built from Mexico, across us, and into Canada. New, expensive. Who passed that bill? Where's the money coming from? Was there a shred of discussion on CSPAN or was it covered ANYWHERE before construction started? what's that about? Sounds like it has something to do with this new North American "area"..

As our dear fearless leader of the DU d'RAT says "I hope this isn't true..." But that highway has raised my eyebrows so high they'd knock a wig off if I wore one!

DONAL I just got home so I promise to read the article you linked tomorrow. I love Tancredo, but this whole idea sounds like a misunderstanding. Maybe something was lost in translation. Manana :-)

I wonder what the heck it's all about, too! Sure surprised me! I'll keep my ears open on this one!

I'm afraid that Tancredo is telling the truth! The pushing of a North American Union has come on Bush's watch, the formation of a department that really requires approval from Congress, that is researching and advocating this formation, has come under his approval. The activation of universities participating in the parlimentary playacting is with his approval...folks, we've been rolled! Thank G*D the unions are doing something independent. They're planning on avoiding that stab at our heartland, and refuse to use it! Nope, Bush is a globalist and has lied everyway he can! I'm disgusted, disappointed and very unhappy. But this is merely a prelude to worse!
Good morning, G*D bless and Maranatha!

I think Tancredo exaggerated a bit, but I'm glad he did. Sometimes a shot across the bow keeps pols like Bush more honest and aware that they're angering the base. My guess is that Tom's running for President. In which case we need to donate. He's a heckuva guy.
As for a "superhighway", as long as we also build a 2000 mile wall and maintain stringent border security on the highwway I could care less if they 12 lane the damn thing. Vigorous commerce will bring much needed changes to a horribly corrupt country like Mexico. More high paying jobs there=less beaners here. :-)

I forgot to mention, it's possible that Bush sees the handwriting on the wall. Mexico is and always has been a filthy mess of corruption. Communism ala Hugo Chavez and radical Islam are probably already trying their best to exploit the cesspool that we all know and love. Engaging the Mexicans in vigorous trade is the best way for them to turm away from both of those horrible ideologies. In the past we've had to buy the cooperation of the Federales to root out Castro and Soviet agents. Commerce is a way to "buy" the cooperation of HUGE portions of the populace and make money while we're at it.

Now if the Prez would only sprout some and build a 2000 mile Israeli style fence the picture would be complete.

I really hope to see Tancredo go for the White House in '08, along with Santorum.

These guys may be the last Republicans alive that make sense!

I thought Santorum gave a definite 'no'...

Thanks, D!

And thanks, Morgan....I've considered what you wrote about the Mexicans and how free trade could clean their slum up......it's just that, living here in LA, I'd say my empirical knowledge tells me it's WE who could become a slum if we don't stop the immigration and stop the highway, etc...........I hope you're right and I"m wrong.

ON the other hand, it's kind of a cheerful subject; wondering if we'll lose to Mexicans, when comparing it to if we'll lose to nukes from Iran, huh?! geesh
