Hillary: Too Clever By Half?

Voters favor McCain over Clinton in '08

Democrats have an overwhelmingly favorable view of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, but she would be soundly beaten if she ran for president against Republican Sen. John McCain now, a new Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll has found. Underscoring the New York Democrat's potential vulnerability, the poll also found that Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, a Republican little known to most voters, would give Clinton a run for her money.

I heard someone say the press will LOVE McCain until he gets the nomination, then they'll smack him down for his loose canon personality ("finger on the bomb") and gloom and doom his skin cancer (which was very serious) and his wife's stroke, etc. I don't believe the Republicans will let him have the nomination. What do you guys think?

He might get the nom--if we can't do better--but I agree with you. The MSM is just playing a less-than-subtle game of "gotcha". It wants to love him up, then drop him off a roof.

Something in me says he's gonna f*** up SOMEWHERE; I truly do not believe he will be president.

There's a lot of crap in his past. Where's he from - Arizona? He hasn't been a careful political player there. He's too mecurial, I believe.

Yes, there was a piece in Slate? or Salon that didn't make him sound too good. The MSM will have a true field day.
