DU 'Honors' Our Flag On Flag Day

Photobucket

FROM DU: This d'Rat Complains About Not Being Able To Torch It:

So will burning a flag be a fine, or will you be arrested?

I hear it may just become an amendment to the constitution this time, or at least be a close one. Can you freakin' believe it? What shall the punishment be for burning a cloth symbol? And what next will become a crime?

Personally I don't run into a lot of flag burners in my daily routine, in fact, I don't think I've ever witnessed that particular soon to be crime. I'll bet a rash of flag burning breaks out if it passes though. A lot of folks just hadn't thought of it till they brought it up. (Philosoraptor)

FROM THE NEWS: Miss America & Baseball Player Implore Congress To "Protect Our Flag"

To demonstrate the kind of desecration the bill would address, baseball Hall of Famer Sen. Jim Bunning, R-Ky., introduced Rick Monday, who as a Chicago Cubs outfielder snatched a flag from two protesters who were about to burn it in the Dodger Stadium outfield. Yesterday, Monday displayed that faded but unmarred flag. "Rick snatched the flag right from under their noses to thunderous applause. The crowd burst into God Bless America. It was arguably one of the greatest moments in the game," Bunning said.

Miss America 2000 Heather French Henry, who has made veterans' affairs her platform, particularly implored McConnell "to help protect our flag."Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., said, "We're stepping in on Flag Day to say 'no more.'"Frist said Senate leadership would work to finally get the bill out of the Senate.

DU Chimes In:

--Burning the flag shows more respect for it than wrapping your gut in a flag tee-shirt, for example.

--So THAT'S what's causing the air pollution. Wait... never seen many burn except in a foreign country... as a signal to show how much they hate us...

--If you voted for the Patriot Act, I can't imagine you caring what "the" flag represents... since a vote for the P.A. was a vote against everything the flag supposedly represents.

--Then they better take it off their friggin advertising, napkins, clothing, lunch-boxes, etc. I see that crap everywhere... What a bunch of fucking ignorants asses.

--I have a Rick Monday autographed baseball...
Maybe you should throw it at him - and Mrs. America.

--Protect the flag piss on the constitution.

That's right, Dimwit; if you want to go burn up something, go burn up your bedsheets, bathtowels, or your mom's best tablecloth--not MY flag. It's not just ANY piece of cloth, it's not just ANY symbol.

What more proof do you need that liberal D'RATS hate AMERICA with an EVIL PASSION?
They hate our flag, our laws, our constitution, our criminal justice system, our culture, our language, our religion...EVERYTHING.

They can't win elections, so they twist our laws to their advantage through the Judicial system with corrupt liberal Judges.
